The purpose of Dreamers and Allies Run is to raise funds to assist students of undocumented status from the Back of the Yards and surrounding communities as they pursue their education. The Peace and Education Coalition serves as a fiscal sponsor for the Dreamers and Allies Run scholarship.
Since 2012, Dreamers and Allies Run (DAR) has invited the community to gather in support of students of undocumented status. Our effort has truly been blessed. DAR has raised more than $100,000 to realize our mission of providing college scholarships to our brothers and sisters of undocumented status. This would not be possible without the compassion, heart, and generosity of our runners and all those who have donated to this scholarship.
2020 has seen unprecedented challenges all around. Unfortunately, the runs DAR usually relied on to raise funds for this scholarship effort have been cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonetheless, DAR is committed to its mission. We continue to invite you to stand up for and with college students of undocumented status by supporting this scholarship.
