\nWhat We Do\n<\/h2>
\nThe Peace and Education Coalition has been planting seeds for nearly 25 years in the Back of the Yards, and I can say with
confidence that we are harvesting the results of that work in many ways. Within that time, the Coalition has witnessed
the founding of the Peace and Education High School, the Paulo Freire Family Center, Casa Hidalgo, SOS Children\u2019s Village
Casa Tepeyac and Back of the Yards College Prep High School. We continue to meet, gathering every month for one hour
with a network of stakeholders reflecting on ways to carry out the work of planting seeds and harvesting the stories. You
can feel the beauty of collaborative action and change for the better.\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>

\nScholarships\n<\/h2>
\nOne of the primary works we do together is our College Scholarships for local students pursuing their dream for education. They give of themselves in the community through volunteer service. The Coalition has helped foster relationships that generate energy, and develop leadership in young people who are today involved in all areas of civic life. We recognize past recipients every year during the annual Scholarship event, and we are inspired by their words and their witness.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>
